Kyle Peter Green, 34, appeared at the Ballarat Magistrates' Court on Thursday via a video link from custody.

A contested committal hearing was set down for August 5.

Four witnesses are expected to give evidence at the one-day hearing, including the alleged carjacking victim - who is known to Green - two police witnesses and the informant.

Green is charged over a police pursuit which occurred at Golden Point on February 28 and caused one police officer to jump out of the way to avoid being hit.

He allegedly reached 100km/h in a 60km/h zone on Main Road as police activated their lights and sirens.

Earlier on the same day at 12am, Green and his sister Zanda Green, also of Sebastopol, were allegedly involved in an attempted aggravated carjacking near Victoria Park.

Police allege Kyle Green stopped his vehicle in front of the 44-year-old victim's Ford Falcon, got out and pointed a handgun to his head and told him he owed him $180 before striking him to the head with the gun.

Green is charged with burglaries in which vehicles and items were stolen from Ballarat properties, including a collectable Chucky doll.

He has been charged with committing offences while on bail.

Defence lawyer Manny Brennan told the court on Thursday he wanted the contested committal hearing listed as soon as possible because Green was in custody.

The earliest date the court could arrange was August 5 and Green was remanded in custody until this day.

His summary charges were adjourned to August 5.

Zander Green, 34, is on bail and will face a filing hearing in July. She has been charged with attempted aggravated carjacking.
