Trains were replaced by coaches between Ballarat and Bacchus Marsh yesterday after intermittent outages to the mobile network which drivers use for safety critical communications with train controllers.
That disruption comes after replacement services were installed between Wendouree and Ballarat yesterday morning after strong winds caused damaged to a boom gate at the Creswick Road level crossing.
IN OTHER NEWS:
V/Line said scheduled city-bound trains would continue to depart from at Bacchus Marsh, but all outbound coaches would stop at Melton due to the increased service frequency.
Coaches will replace trains between Wendouree or Ballarat and Melton at a regular frequency with trains operating between Bacchus Marsh or Melton and Southern Cross Station.
V/Line said it was hopeful train services would be restored at some stage today, but the replacement services would be in place for the majority of the day.
