Jacinta Beveridge was on her way to work at Trentham Aged Care from Campbells Creek on Wednesday night when she hit the worst weather she has ever seen.
"I was on my way to work, I had gotten the heads up from my mum a couple of hours earlier saying you might need to leave a little earlier the weather is nasty," she said.
"I didn't think much of it but left 15 minutes earlier than I usually would have."
Once she got to The Farmer's Arms in Daylesford the weather really turned.
"Heading into Bullarto I started to really freak out, I felt like I couldn't control my car," she said.
Twenty minutes from work, Ms Beveridge got to where a huge tree had fallen and could not go any further.
"I called a colleague who lived nearby and he tried to take me the back way down Dolphins Road," she said.
As she drove down the narrow track, trees started dangerously swaying and two branches fell onto Ms Beveridge's car.
"One hit into the windscreen, it didn't damage it, but I have lots of scratches on my car. At one point a stick got stuck in my car, I had to hop out of the car to pull it out," she said.
Ms Beveridge decided it was safer to turn around and head back home to Campbells Creek while she still could.
A colleague who was meant to also be on night shift with her got stuck on the other side of Trentham.
"My colleague drives to work from St Kilda and she left at 7.45pm and got to work at 1am," Ms Beveridge said.
"She worked until 4am the next day because so many people couldn't turn up to work. She was asked to work longer but with only one hour of sleep she decided it was better to go home."
The phones are currently down at Trentham Aged Care and none of Ms Beveridge's colleagues can currently get through to contact their workplace.
"Last I heard them they told me not to try and come in. My next shift is on Monday so I really hope it's all cleared by then," she said.
A spokesperson from Powercor has said some people in the area might still have no power into the weekend due to access issues in Trentham.
