A Wendouree man has been refused bail after allegedly stealing more than $150,000 worth of items from Lake Wendouree homes.

Damien Bambridge, 31, allegedly entered two Lake Wendouree properties with an intent to steal in May 2021.
He is charged with stealing two iPads, two iPhones and two laptops valued at $10,000, personal documents and keys to a BMW on May 20. Some time between May 21 and 25 he allegedly stole a $45,000 BMW car.
Between the same dates he is also accused of stealing a road bike, a mountain bike, assorted jewellery and personal belongings from one victim valued at almost $96,600.
He is charged with handling stolen goods including mobile phones, a number of car keys and personal documents which police found in his possession in June.
Bambridge was arrested and the charges were filed with the court on June 2.
Having regard to his recent history, a short period of imprisonment is unlikely.

He appeared from custody on Tuesday at the Ballarat Magistrates' Court to make an application for bail.
Magistrate Ron Saines said it was highly likely Bambridge would be sentenced to imprisonment if the charges were proven.
"Having regard to his recent history, a short period of imprisonment is unlikely," he said.
Defence lawyer Nikhil Sood said there were weaknesses in the prosecution case and there could be a long delay to the case when arguing for bail.
He said Bambridge had a stable residence if released and the opportunity of work.
Mr Saines said he was not satisfied compelling reasons for bail were shown.
He said no conditions of bail could reduce the risks of reoffending and the risks to the public.
"Mr Bambridge has such a consistent history of offending, particularly of committing indictable offences while on bail and contravening bail conditions," he said.
The court heard Bambridge had been imprisoned for dishonesty and deception offences in the past. Bambridge was remanded in custody and will return to court in July.
