The result snaps a two-game losing streak for the Lions and propels Karinna Knowles' side into a finals spot.
Knowles was full of praise for her group after the 49-38 victory.
"It was a bit of worried going in because I knew what Sebastopol had and what they could do," she said.
IN OTHER NEWS:
"For us to come out firing like we did and get the win, it was really good.
"We were strong from the start and maintained it throughout the whole game," she said.
"We took a number of intercepts. Our defence was really, really good (on Saturday).
"Sebastopol came back in the last couple of minutes, but we'd already had it won at that point. It was a really good game for us, with four good, consistent quarters."
Teenager Sophie Wheatland excelled in the defensive end, alongside the experience of Sarah Milton.
"(Sophie) really stood up. She probably had four of five intercepts in the first quarter," Knowles said of the 17-year-old Wheatland's performance.
"That's a massive amount. You'd like to see that over a game, but not the first quarter. She converted the ball well.
"That's what set us up for the game when you start like that and can maintain it."
Fellow Lions cub Mackenzie Nicholson top-scored for her side, shooting 30 goals at 80 per cent.
"She's only 17 as well, so for her to shoot like she did was (great)," Knowles said.
"She had really good, strong hands in the circle and had a lot of pace on her.
"Having Ruby Parry in the goal ring there, feeding her really well, worked well for us yesterday."
Sebastopol drops from fourth to fifth after the loss but sits two points clear of Redan in sixth.
Elsewhere, North Ballarat continued its dominance with a 10-goal win against Melton.
A 50-goal haul to Madi Selmon was enough to push the Roosters six points clear at the top of the table.
Melton South held on to second with a 42-36 win against Ballarat, while East Point stays third after returning to form with a 19-goal win against Darley.
In the round's other game, Lake Wendouree defeated Bacchus Marsh, 58-29.
