Star forward Jessica Bokma continued her rich run of form, backing up seven goals last week with 11 goals at the weekend.
It closes the gap between her and leader Kim Bessell to just seven, despite the Darley forward kicking four goals herself in the Devils' win over Bacchus Marsh.
It was a low scoring affair at Maddingly Park, the Cobras leading 10-8 at half-time.
A three goal to zero third quarter by Darley set up the eight-point win, however.
Despite going scoreless in the fourth quarter and Bacchus Marsh kicking 1.3, the Devils held on 4.3 (27) to 2.7 (19).
Sebastopol enjoyed another big win over Lake Wendouree, keeping Lakers scoreless in the 128-point win.
There was an even spread of goalkickers for the Burra, five players kicking multiple majors in the 19.14 (128) to 0.0 (0) win.
Emma Broughton and Jordan Chettleburgh kicked four each, Katelene Cook and Shannon Eliades bagged three Jaye Dalgleish finished with two.
Melton Central claimed its third win of the season despite some wayward kicking against Melton.
The final score read 6.18 (54) to 1.2 (8).
Centrals had six individual goalkickers on the day as they cemented their spot in the top four.
