Each is chasing a fourth consecutive win.
Noblet saddles up Out And Dreaming in the $100,000 Kevin Lafferty Hurdle, 3200m, and McDonald has stable favourite Flying Agent in the $100,000 Thackeray Steeplechase, 3450m.
Out And Dreaming is the first jumper Noblet has trained and the four-year-old could not have been more impressive.
He followed up a first-up second over the jumps by claiming his maiden hurdle at Warrnambool at the May Racing Carnival and has since won at Sandown and Warrnambool.
Noblet said after his last start that everyone knew how hard it was to find a good one in any discipline of racing. "It's a huge thrill, I've got a big buzz out of it."
Daryl Horner junior roade Out And Roaming to victory in the maiden hurdle and will be reunited with him on Sunday.
Flying Agent has been a great campaigner for McDonald since arriving from New Zealand two years ago, winning seven times on the flat, and over hurdle and steeples.
He has had four starts this preparation, winning a Hamilton hurdle, the Brierly Steeplechase at Warrnambool in May and on the flat last start at Bendigo.
Sunday is part of the build-up to the culmination of the jumps season - Grand National Steeplechase Day in Ballarat on Sunday, August 29. It will also feature the Gotta Take Care Hurdle and JJ Houlihan Hurdle.
