The Bulldogs scheduled clash with the Crows has been cut from the fixture with the top-of-the-table clash with Melbourne now scheduled for Saturday night instead.
With crowds not expected at AFL matches in this state for at least the next round, it was always expected the AFL would bring forward the Bulldogs clash with Melbourne to this weekend, allowing for them to return to Ballarat with hopefully some crowd the following week.
On Monday, the league worked through a contingency that the round 20 clashes Melbourne-Western Bulldogs, Brisbane-Gold Coast and Adelaide-Hawthorn be held this weekend.
The AFL is expected to then shuffle the three originally fixtured round 19 games involving those six teams back to round 20, which would be Gold Coast v Melbourne, Hawthorn v Brisbane and the Western Bulldogs v Adelaide.
By that stage the league hopes to have better ability to fly teams across state borders.
The AFL has 45 matches it needs to play in order to complete a full season and is scrambling to make sure it can fulfill those commitments.
The AFL is loathe to bring forward its pre-finals bye given its concerns as to whether the season will be able to re-start if it is forced into a hiatus.
Victoria announced 12 new cases on Monday morning, plus another four who were already isolating.
