It was a case of being unable to reign Sandringham back in for the Rebels, constantly trailing by 20 or so points throughout the day.
Coach David Loader refused to blame the layoff for his side's performance.
"People will say 'we haven't trained for a month and we haven't done this and we haven't done that', but neither have they really," he said.
"We just played poor ... uncharacteristic I would have said, it just didn't look like a Rebels side.
"Didn't look hard and aggressive ... we're a real team based group ... there was way too much me today and not enough we."
The Rebels won't have much time to dwell on the result, with sixth-placed Eastern Ranges their next opponent, on Sunday from 2:30pm.
The location of that game is still to be decided.
The Rebels have their previous clash with Ranges in the back of their mind, a 38-point win back in round five.
The forward line was in superb form during that clash, Joshua Rentsch (five), Flynn Loader (three) and Jye Lockett (two) leading the way on the scoreboard.
