Warrnambool now tops the state when it comes to first doses for COVID-19 vaccinations with 57.9 per cent of residents aged 15-plus at least partially protected, according to the latest federal health data.
This comes one week after Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews approved AstraZeneca for under-40s to be delivered at state-run hubs.
Ballarat has slipped to eighth region in the state for first doses in the past week, but the proportion of first jabs has narrowly increased from 50.3 per cent to 53 per cent of residents.
Geelong (33.9 per cent), Bendigo (33) and Warrnambool (31.8) remain ahead of the Ballarat region for full vaccinations, each which similar increments to suggest consistent bookings for second doses in the regional centres.
The number of Ballarat people fully vaccinated has risen from 23.5 per cent to 30.7 residents in the past fortnight, since federal data was first released.
There is a combined 1000 jab appointments available each day in Ballarat between Ballarat Health Services' vaccination hub at the Mercure and the UFS run centre in Dana Street.
The state's health department confirmed 20 of the new cases are linked to known outbreaks, while the remaining four are mystery infections.
