Waight told The Courier he is excited to lead a young, up-and-coming Bungaree side next season.
"Obviously pleased to be involved again for 2022," he said.
"Had a good think about, I've got three young boys and life's pretty busy like everyone at the minute.
"Really keen to go again."
In a year full of unpredictability with three separate lockdowns and no guarantee of games or finals, it has been a tough season for all involved in community sport.
Waight said to give his players some certainty ahead of 2022 was something he was keen to do.
"I hope this doesn't sound too noble, but my first thought was there's been so much uncertainty in footy over the last two years, I think the group deserves some certainty in their footy life at least," he said.
Carrying on the good form that Bungaree finished the 2021 season with added to Waight's desire to re-sign, with some clear recruiting objectives in mind to take the side to the next level.
"There (was) some promising signs in the back-end of this year winning the last five after starting behind the eight ball and just missing finals," he said.
"There's some motivation there to go a couple of steps further next year to get into finals and see how far we can bat."
Two of Bungaree's more disappointing losses came against Dunnstown in round three (59 points) and Rokewood-Corindhap in round six (33 points).
Waight said those sides were able to get on top of Bungaree on the outside and use their leg speed.
He said some outside midfielders will be at the top of the list when it comes to off-season recruiting, as well as improving his current crops' fitness.
"Our ruckmen battled hard all year but they're not natural ruckmen so we need a bit of height in the centre to give our mids the best opportunity at the stoppage," he added.
Bungaree's defence was something it can be proud of, allowing the sixth least amount of points per game on average.
Their average mark of 55.36 was better than three top eight sides.
The Demons struggled to score, however, averaging the 10th most amount of points, 62.73.
"Obviously need to hit the scoreboard a bit harder next year," Waight said.
