Co-coaches Sam Willian and Andrew Pitson have been a key reason for the side's good form in 2021, the pair re-signing for the 2022 season.
Willian told The Courier he was excited to sign and continue the Emus' development.
"We've got a game plan that we've implemented and I think we're going to carry that on, we think it works," he said.
"Then hopefully look to recruit a couple more, I think if we can bring two or three more in the door it's pretty exciting times, I think we can really challenge the top four, hopefully with a full season."
Pitson said after the year that's been, finals, and a clash with Buninyong, can't come quick enough.
"It's been a pretty challenging year to be honest ... so certainly looking forward to playing a final that's for sure," he said.
The success the Emus have had is a far cry from where they were 10 years ago when they made the move from the Lexton Plains.
In 2011 they finished 13th and then proceeded to finish in 14th, 10th, 15th, 16th, 15th, 17th and 12th before a drought-breaking finals appearance in 2019.
That season, Skipton was bundled out in an elimination final by eventual grand finalists Hepburn, a mark it wants to improve on this time around against Buninyong.
The partnership Willian and Pitson have built has become a strong one, shared car rides to training and games becoming little business meetings.
"I'd met Pitto a fair bit but I hadn't had a heap to do with him," Willian said.
"He's been unbelievable, we're both pretty easy going, we don't clash heads at all.
"Obviously it's a 45-minute trip out to Skipton on a Thursday night so you've got an hour-and-a-half, that's where some of the big decisions are made on the way out and on the way home."
Pitson echoed Willian's comments.
"Certainly formed a but of a bond this year and I think it's working pretty well at the moment, definitely," he said.
