The Devils went winless throughout the 2021 Ballarat Football Netball League season, Roy's first "proper" campaign at the helm after last year's COVID woes.
It's believed the Geelong-based Roy will take some time away from football to focus on his young family and work commitments.

The 2017 premiership player was dealt a tough hand in his first season on the sidelines with the Devils plagued by injury, including Roy himself.
Former Henderson Medallist Jake Edwards managed just one game, while captain Shane Page featured only five times with 10 weeks separating his first and second appearances.
In total, Roy called on 46 players this season, 10 more than the average for the league, and 18 Darley junior products made their senior debuts for the club.
The average amount of players used by clubs this season was 36.
Roy is the second of this season's coaches to vacate their position, following Dale Power's decision to step down at Lake Wendouree.
Four coaches have penned new deals. Joe Carmody and Travis Hodgson have agreed to two-year extensions with Ballarat and Sunbury, respectively.
Playing coach Tom German will spend another season with Bacchus Marsh, and Aaron Tymms has committed to another year with Melton.
