After signing at the end of 2019, Banwell didn't get to coach a game in 2020 due to COVID-19.

He was only able to coach 11 matches this season due to constant lockdown interruptions.
"We'll go around again, loved the ride so far," Banwell said.
"Two pre-seasons and half a footy season in that time, that's just how it is.
"It's been an enjoyable way to spend two years anyway, it's a great club."
Newlyn is fresh off a frustrating season on the injury front.
Stars Marcus Darmody, Daniel Wehrung and Myles and Adam Sewell were all hit with the injury bug for a lot of the season.
Despite this unfortunate run, the Cats remained in the finals hunt, eventually finishing 10th with a 5-6 record, winning 45.45 per cent of their games.
Banwell told The Courier his side stood up with significant players missing.
Thomas Carey was one, becoming the number one option up forward in Darmody's absence and leading the side's goalkicking with 19 majors.
Banwell also praised the work of Sean Willmott, Dylan Fishwick and Jarrod Fryar in the middle of the ground in the Sewell brothers' absence.
Banwell joins Learmonth's Nick Willox, Bungaree's Ryan Waight, Skipton's Andrew Pitson and Sam Willian and Carngham-Linton's Clayton Scoble on the list of re-signed CHFL coaches for 2022.
