The $100,000 Grassroots Regional Championships comprising sprint and distance series will be run across eight race clubs in Victoria.
The $10,000 450m and 660m finals will be at Morshead Park on Wednesday, September 22.
Sprint series begin with five central heats in Ballarat on Sunday.
Heats will continue on a regional basis, with a maxium of four at Warrnambool (western) on Monday, Horsham (western) on Tuesday, Bendigo (northern) on Wednesday, Shepparton (northern) and Warragul (eastern) on Thursday, September 9, and Sale (eastern) on Friday, September 10.
The final line-up will be finalised after a four region-based semi-finals at Warrnambool, Geelong (central), Shepparton and Warragul.
The distance series is scheduled to start later in the month with fewer heats.
It will feature one heat at each of four venues - Warrnambool and Shepparton on Thursday, September 16; and Geelong and Warragul on Friday, September 17.
Greyhound Racing Victoria gracing general manager Greg Kerr said the GRV was continually looking at ways to create greater earning opportunities for greyhounds at all levels, with the Grassroots Regional Championships to cater for those that would not normally compete for feature stakemoney.
"It's exciting to have eight different regional clubs involved in this inaugural series, and we look forward to will be a fantastic culmination with two grand finals at Ballarat," he said.
Greyhounds must be out of maiden class and have had a minimum 10 starts to be eligible.
