Property inspections in Victoria will resume in a limited form from September 23, when the state is expected to have reached 70 per cent of first-dose vaccines administered.
Inspections of property for any purpose are currently banned as part of the statewide lockdown.
The changes, which will see one-on-one private inspections of unoccupied properties for the purpose of purchasing a new property or conducting an end-of-lease inspection, were announced by Premier Daniel Andrews at his daily Covid-19 briefing.
Mr Andrews announced that playgrounds will open from this Friday, with a limited number of restrictions to ease on September 23.
"...real estate, private inspections of unoccupied premises for a new purchase or end of a lease will be permitted," Mr Andrews said.
Other restrictions set to be eased on that date include an increase in the distance Victorians can travel to exercise and an increase in construction site density rates.
Regional Victorians may be able to inspect property sooner, pending the severity of the restrictions left in place when the regional lockdown is expected to be lifted next week.
"If we put Shepparton to one side for one moment and think about the rest of regional Victoria, we think there will be - we will be able to end the lockdown in the rest of regional Victoria next week," Mr Andrews said.
"Exactly when we'll confirm as soon as we can. The nature of that ending of the lockdown, so there will be an opening up, there will be significant restrictions, substantial restrictions, on what can occur and, of course, no-one other than those who are authorised will be able to go to regional Victoria from metropolitan Melbourne."
