Stewart McSweyn has celebrated his best performance since the Olympics, winning gold in a rare 1-2 finish for Australian in the 1500m at the prestigious Memorial Van Damme Diamond League meet in Brussels.

The former Ballarat Clarendon College student overtook a tiring leader in the home straight to win with a time of three minutes 33.2 seconds, ahead of compatriot Ollie Hoare.
The Diamond League finals is next on the agenda for McSweyn, who qualified for the 1500m at 5000m
"To take the win here in Brussels is special to me as it is one of my favourite races," McSweyn said post-race.
"Now the focus is on the final in Zurich where many other strong guys will be competing. I m really looking forward to that."
The finals will be held on September 8-9.
McSweyn has two Diamond League podium finishes to his name in the 1500m this season, and made the Olympics finals.
