Greater Western Victoria Rebels assistant coach Rick Andrews will lead Maryborough in the Bendigo Football Netball League for at least the next three seasons.

Andrews is a former Magpies player and assistant coach, featuring in the club's 1999 premiership.
On the club's Facebook post, Maryborough president Brendan Roughead spoke highly of the appointment.
"Andrews is a highly motivated and enthusiastic coach who will bring a wealth of experience and knowledge from his involvement with some very successful clubs," he said.
Andrews added in the post that he was excited by the task ahead of him.
"I am really grateful to have the opportunity to coach such a proud and successful club like Maryborough," he said.
"To work with a young and emerging group was a big motivating factor.
"I already have some great memories here, but hope my best ones will be created in the future with this playing group and community."
Andrews takes the role over from former Dunnstown senior coach Justin Abrams, who led the Magpies through the 2020 and 2021 seasons.
Andrews has enjoyed a stellar country football playing and coaching career, playing in Sandhurst's 2004 BFNL premiership, Charlton's 2005 and 2009 North Central Football League premierships and coaching Clunes in the CHFL.
Recently he has held coaching positions with the AFL State Academy, Ballarat Goldfields Academy, Western Bulldogs Next Generation under 15 Academy and the GWV Rebels.
