Salons re-open from Friday with tight capacity limits that have left medium and large salons operating well under-capacity. Most workers are stepping up to offer extra hours to help get through a back-log in clients.
Shemika Hair and Beauty owner Viv Cudia said her team felt a lot of pressure to try and help fit in as many clients as possible after yo-yoing in and out of lockdowns.
Ms Cudia said most people had been really understanding and were flexible to delay appointments if need. But most regulars tended to book right through to Christmas, particularly from this time of the year, and this meant rescheduling whole strings of appointments for months ahead.
"It's just crazy," Ms Cudia said. "But the girls are all excited. We love being back at work and are just happy to be back in the salon."

Salons are to re-open with a cap of 10 people with masks to remain on during the whole appointment.
Another salon worker told The Courier while capacity did not impact their salon greatly - it had remained similar to levels last year - the main aim was just trying to help as many people as they could who had been patiently waiting.
Other salons have been splitting cut and colours in a bid to keep people moving through the salon.
This is also not the first time beauty has been forced to navigate mask-wearing limitations for appointments, particularly in waxing and facials.
