Metal is one of the most defining objects in the history of mankind, making things from coins that power our economy to copper wires that keep our houses lit up and functioning at maximum efficiency.

Now, I believe that not everything has to be complex, or philosophical, or thought-provoking. This is why I've written about metal. Metal is simply exquisite, from its gorgeous looks, to the smell, to how delicious it tastes(?).

Everything about it is so simple and yet so elegant.

Now, you may be asking yourself: "What is this guy on about? It's just metal".

Well, I believe metal is the counter to modern journalism. You see, in a world of tabloids, exploitative journalism, social media and press conferences, metal is simple. It's metal. It does metallic things. There is no ruse, no lie, no fact-mongering, just metal.

It's amazing how such a basic element can metaphorically produce such an extreme response in our world.

Metal can be used to build nuclear weapons. Guns. Spears. Even swords. Metal has been one of the avenues to human warfare, and yet it stays the same.

Because metal is just metal.

It's what humanity does with it that makes the greatest impact. Metal cannot do anything about it, nor does it choose to.

It's just metal, after all.
