Rex Hickman will join the Cobras for the 2022 season, crossing from the Mallee Eagles in the Central Murray Football Netball League.
It's a welcome return to the BFNL for Hickman, who previously played for Ballarat and Melton South.
IN OTHER NEWS:
Predominantly a mobile key forward, Hickman can also play in multiple positions across the ground.
He kicked 33 goals across 28 games in the BFNL and played in a losing grand final in his sole season with the Swans in 2014.
From Ballarat, he joined Melton Centrals in the Riddell District Football Netball League, where he spent four seasons.
In 2018, Hickman represented Vic Metro in its 25-point Community Cup loss to Vic Country.
A move to the Mallee Eagles beckoned in 2019, where Hickman kicked 28 goals in 20 goals - including two in a grand final loss.
Hickman will bolster an already star-studded Cobras forward group.
BFNL interleague representative Aaron Willitts has re-signed for next season as he looks to put an injury-interrupted 2021 behind him.
Willitts kicked 18 goals from six games, with a calf complaint ultimately hampering his season.
Bacchus Marsh captain Jake Owen has also re-committed for 2022.
Owen was the Cobras' leading goalkicker this season, kicking 27 goals from nine games to finish third on the league's goalkicking ranks.
Together, Owen, Willitts, and Hickman have combined for 148 goals across the past two seasons.
Cobras young guns Jack Parente and Zane Le Huray will also both stay with the club after breakthrough seasons.
Le Huray, the club's under-19 captain in 2021, made his senior debut this season, playing six games and featuring in the best twice.
