Families, parents and staff at Ballarat Clarendon College's early learning centre and junior school in Mair Street have been ordered in to an initial 48-hour quarantine after a child tested positive to COVID-19.

The school was notified this morning regarding a positive case in the ELC who attended the centre on Friday September 10.
Students and staff have not been at the the college this week as it's school holidays began on Friday.
It is the second positive COVID case in Ballarat in as many days, with a construction worker who works in Melbourne among the 445 new COVID cases added to the state tally today.
Ballarat Clarendon College principal David Shepherd sent a letter to the school community containing advice from Grampians Public Health clinical director Dr Karen Aarons.
Any student, staff member, contractor or visitor who attended the Mair Street campus - both the ELC and junior school - at any time on Friday September 10 is now subject to a 48 hour stop and stay directive meaning they must go home immediately and only leave to get a test for COVID symptoms.
There are still no updates on the DHHS exposure site page, although the Lake View Hotel has also listed itself as an exposure site.

"Given the speed with which the Delta variant is moving from person to person, anyone associated with the school, and their household, is asked to quarantine for 48 hours in the first instance," Dr Aarons wrote in information provided to parents.
"This means that you should STOP what you are doing now, go directly home and STAY home from now until further notice.
"Leave home only to get a test for COVID-19 symptoms.
"Your actions will help keep the school community, friends, extended family and the wider community safe."
Mr Shepherd called on families to abide by the order to keep everyone save.
"This situation is evolving. It requires us to do everything we can - both individually and as a community - to follow directions, to care for each other and to stay safe," he wrote.
It is the second time the school has enforced such an order due to COVID.
