As school holidays ramp up and the weather warms up, day-trippers have flooded to visit the animals who have so missed the interaction with their human friends.

Owner Greg Parker said while Saturday was quiet, Sunday was busy and Monday was looking like being one of the best days in months.

"We did really well on Sunday with the weather, but today is looking even stronger," he said on Monday.

"And a lot of that is down I think to Geelong and the Surf Coast being released from lockdown. I'll never whinge about doing paperwork ever again."

Mr Parker said he hoped the strong crowds can continue over the school holidays although there would be some slight differences.

"We have been doing some of the live shows and experiences, but obviously there's a lot of social distancing requirements for us," he said.

Mr Parker said the park would open every day and while this week was a welcome boost, there was still a long way to go.

"It won't return to what it was for a long time," he said. "We'll grit our teeth and keep going until Christmas and hopefully everything opens up then.

"Our biggest market would always be Melbourne day-trippers, and then you've got the international and tourist buses and of course school groups which we're still not seeing.

"It might be the middle of next year, but I've got faith in the international market that once we are open fully, it'll happen very quickly."
