Olsen posted on Instagram that she and a friend were on a roadtrip last Sunday when they were involved in a collision with a 23-tonne truck.
"The truck was going 100kms and just nicked us," Olsen wrote, with photos and videos taken on a stretcher in an ambulance, with a bloody lip and of a white van with significant damage on the driver's side.
"My friend Alex suffered a broken rib, hole in her liver, seatbelt burn and huge gash on her leg but I was lucky enough to walk away with a face whack, concussion and some teeth and stitches through my lip.
"We were told that if the timing of the crash was even half a second later this would have been a very different story.
"Cheers universe for keeping us here another day."
IN OTHER NEWS:
Poppy's mum Thomas said the girls had been planning to go scuba diving off Magnetic Island, Queensland.
She said the girls were turning into a campground near Ayr for the night when the truck overtook their van and "side-swiped" the right side of the vehicle.
"It was awful... getting that phone call was just shocking," she said.
"[Poppy's] a bit fuzzy at the moment but they said that will take a few weeks to improve, but her friend Alex [who was in the driver's seat] is in a bad way... she'll be fine but there's lots of little things that are going on, poor thing.
"You've got to say how lucky they were, not 'Oh my God, what if'."
She said Poppy was taken to Bowen Hospital and is now in Buderim with her uncle, while Alex is still in Townsville Hospital.
"There's no skating, she has to stay off the skateboard for at least six weeks,"
