Edmonds will stay on as coach for the 2022 Ballarat Football Netball League season.

The Panthers finished second this season, only losing one game en route to earning a finals place for the first time in more than 15 years.

"I'm definitely keen to get back out there. It's almost like we really only had half a season," Edmonds said.

"We spoke about it and we thought we were in really good contention to take (the premiership) out.

"It was an awesome season, probably the best in the history of the club. Most of our players are coming back too. The pickups that we got at the beginning of the season really made a difference. Although there were only one or two new players they really jelled with our exisiting players."

The Panthers excelled across the court, with plenty receiving accolades come the season's end.

Goalie Akira McCormack finished second in the Sally McLean Medal count at just 17-years-old.

She was joined in the BFNL's A Grade team of the year by midcourter Soli Ropati and defender Grace Valele.

"We had quite good leadership in each area of the court. There were really good leaders for those young ones and a lot of our olders players are only in their mid-20s," Edmonds said.

"The connection we were able to develop was awesome."

The Panthers were the only side to walk away with a positive result against reigning premiers North Ballarat in 2021, forcing the Roosters to settle for a draw.

It was the only game the Roosters didn't win all season.

Melton South firms as one of the early contenders for next season's title, alongside North Ballarat who's gunning for a third-straight premiership.

Edmonds said the group would wait to assess its goals with many players still in lockdown.

"It's really about coming together when we can and working those things out as a unit," she said.

"It's not just about me coming in and saying this is how it's going to be. It's a whole club approach."
