During the week its was reported Carlton was sounding out Brendan McCartney as an assistant coach to help the newly-appointed Michael Voss.
Later, the Blues announced Ashley Hansen would fill the final role on the coaching panel.
McCartney spent nearly two decades in the AFL, first as a premiership-winning assistant coach with Geelong.
He later took on a role with Essendon, before becoming senior coach with the Western Bulldogs and a development coach at Melbourne.
McCartney guided North Ballarat to a minor premiership in his first BFNL season.
