Parents received an email from principal Laurel Donaldson late on Sunday night advising of the school's immediate closure on Monday as a precaution to undergo necessary cleaning and to identify students or staff who may have had close contact with the case.
Ms Donaldson asked parents to isolate their children on Monday as a precaution.
"If we do not contact you tomorrow to say your child/ren has/have been identified as a close contact, your child/ren should return to school on Tuesday 12 October," Ms Donaldson wrote in the email.
"If we inform you that your child/ren has/have been identified as a primary close contact, please make sure that you child/ren remain/s isolated until you are contacted by the Department of Health directly."
It is at least the second time the school has been a COVID exposure site since the pandemic began.
In line with new regulations around isolation of close contacts, only children identified as close contacts need to isolate and not the rest of the family.
It comes as Victoria recorded a slight drop in new COVID cases, with 1612 positive cases identified from 73,138 tests carried out yesterday. Of the new cases 122, or eight per cent, were in regional areas.
