Indoor community sport will be allowed from midnight on Thursday, October 21, when the state moves to eased restrictions after reaching the 70 per cent second dose vaccination benchmark.

Additionally, Premier Daniel Andrews said the influential 80 per cent double dose mark could be hit as soon as Melbourne Cup day, allowing for seasons proper to begin.

Under regional Victoria's current settings, community sport is permitted for training only with the minimum number of people required.

That same stipulation is not written in the state government's updated roadmap, but there is neither any direction stating competition is allowed to return.

It is still to be clarified if vaccine mandates will be placed on community sport.

Last week, Cricket Victoria chief executive Nick Cummins said the state's governing body was expecting to hear soon whether vaccination will be mandatory for community cricket.

The Ballarat Highlands Bowls Region is also waiting further information regarding vaccinations and community sport.

"We will get this information out to clubs as soon as it becomes known," BHBR shared. "The current climate of the community being required to be double vaccinated before many activities, including attending bars and dining facilities, means that admission to sporting club facilities will likely need to follow the same rules."
