Excitement has been building with news of the Red Hot Summer Tour, SummerSalt, and the fiftieth anniversary tribute to Neil Young's Harvest.
While those mega-events are set for 2022, there are plenty of imminent appetisers.
The town is set to feature in 'Play On Victoria', a series of events taking place on Saturday 30 and Sunday 31 October.
Ballarat music lovers will be able to take advantage of a laneway party outside Volta in Field Street on the Saturday.
Featured artists at the function will include Gareth Liddiard, Skyscraper Stan, Allara, Our Carlson, and Jess Ribeiro.
That said, there is also the chance for people to experience live music in other accessible venues within the state, such as Handle Bar in Bendigo, the Barwon Club in Geelong, Halls Gap Hotel, Dart and Marlin in Warrnambool, and the Bridge Hotel in Castlemaine.

This can be in the form of a COVID-19 digital certificate displayed through the Service Victoria app, Medicare app, or equivalent smartphone wallet. A printed version of the certificate or immunisation history statement will also be accepted, as will evidence of a valid exemption.
Masks are to be worn.
