A power blackout in late September may have been caused by thieves breaking into a former factory in Canadian, and police are looking for the offenders.

According to a post on the Ballarat Eyewatch Facebook page, the incident occurred on September 26 between 7pm and 8.30pm.
It's alleged offenders entered the former Sunicrust Bakery factory on Lal Lal Street in Canadian, and damaged part of a Powercor substation.
This then caused a "large power outage to the Ballarat area".
