Premier Daniel Andrews visited three schools in Ballarat on Wednesday who have each received multi-million dollar upgrades over the past year.
At Delacombe Primary a $6.5 million project has resulted in a new competition-grade basketball stadium that will be used by the school and the community, along with new landscaping, canteen, office and multipurpose room.
It comes on top of two new permanent classrooms, a toilet block and undercover outdoor learning space built three years ago.
The school has been crying out for new spaces to help cater for its massive growth over the past five years.
In 2016 the school had 269 students, with an enrolment this year of 486 and at least 510 pupils next year.

Mr Andrews also visited Miners Rest Primary School, which has tripled in size after moving in to new buildings on a site adjoining its historic schoolyard, and Mount Clear College which has completed a $5.5 million redevelopment of its junior school.
"We're not just delivering the facilities kids in Ballarat need now - we're future-proofing these schools to make sure we keep pace with this growing regional city and make sure every student has access to a great local school," Mr Andrews said.
"Going ... to a more than 500 enrolment next year imagine the pressure, imagine the challenges, imagine the way in which kids' education would be compromised if we were not making these kind of investments."
