Having scrapped his way back into the NRL, Brisbane half Tyson Gamble has no desire to give up his hard-fought position at the Broncos without a fight.

The 25-year-old was plucked from Queensland Cup obscurity by Broncos coach Kevin Walters a third of the way into the 2021 NRL season.
Gamble made the most of the career lifeline, making 15 appearances for the Broncos and earning himself a two-year contract extension.
The arrival of Adam Reynolds at Red Hill means the No.7 jersey has been effectively sewn up but Gamble is confident he can win the race to be the former South Sydney captain's halves partner in 2022.
Anthony Milford's exit means the No.6 jersey is up for grabs and following in the footsteps of illustrious Broncos' five-eighths such as Walters, Darren Lockyer and Wally Lewis is Gamble's sole focus this pre-season.
"I love competition. I love fighting for a jersey," Gamble said.
He said there's six potential candidates vying to be the Broncos' five-eighth.
"Nothing has ever come easy for me to get to where I am," Gamble said.
"It's going to be a hell of a competition throughout the pre-season but absolutely I feel like I've got two hands on it at the moment and I don't really want to give it up too easy."
Gamble has dismissed any suggestion he could be lured to join Wayne Bennett at expansion club the Dolphins in the future.
After being released by Wests Tigers in 2019 having made just one NRL appearance in two years at the joint venture, Gamble rebuilt his career at Redcliffe before his elevation to the Broncos squad.
Repaying that faith was first and foremost in Gamble's mind.
"I owe him (Walters) and I owe the club a lot of my time because if it wasn't for them - this club and Kevvie - I wouldn't be really standing here now," he said.
"If I don't get the six jersey then so be it, I'll fight my way into another one or I'll play cup and force my way into the team."
