Selkirk Bricks, associated with Ballarat for well over 100 years, is taking advantage of Toyworld's giving tree to support 3BA's Christmas Appeal.
The business' chief financial officer Tim Bodey is thrilled the company has maintained its involvement with the charitable initiative.
"We've had a long 20-plus year association with the appeal," Mr Bodey said.
"In conjunction with Toyworld, we're donating $1000 worth of toys to the disadvantaged children of Ballarat. It's a terrific opportunity for us to give back to our community."
Mr Bodey is proud of Selkirk Bricks' offering.
"To provide to the children of Ballarat is a great honour," he said.
IN OTHER NEWS
Radio Ballarat general manager John Fitzgibbon is pleased with how his station's appeal is progressing.
"We've seen a flurry of activity in the last week which has been huge," Mr Fitzgibbon said.
"We're definitely seeing Ballarat is getting into the Christmas spirit. It's great today that Selkirk Bricks has gotten involved and continues its long association with the appeal.
"Its office is currently closed so it cannot assist as it usually would, but it has taken the opportunity to utilise the giving tree at Toyworld. It's very well stocked."
Mr Fitzgibbon is keen to remind people about how to donate in this different era.
"It's difficult for us to take hard goods given the challenges with COVID so we ask people to remember cash is king," he said.
"Cash gives us the flexibility to purchase exactly what the agencies need.
"Aside from that, if people feel they want to give something tangible, they can come down to Toyworld, they can buy a toy, and leave it under the tree. Those toys will go to families for Christmas."
As to who will determine how the Selkirk Bricks donation will be spent, Mr Bodey was unequivocal.
"We'll leave that up to the experts at Toyworld," he said.
