Run by volunteers, it's stared down major sporting events, a pandemic, and all sorts of other obstacles, but it's still going strong.
The Organs of the Ballarat Goldfields, a celebration of ancient music from as far back as the Middle Ages, played on authentic instruments, is back for its 26th round, a massive achievement.

The 2022 program begins on January 8, and is much shorter than usual, assistant director Judy Houston said, but maintains the high quality of performers fans have come to expect, in churches in Ballarat and Clunes.
"There are some lovely people coming, I think everyone will be very relaxed and happy," Ms Houston said.
"There's only five shows this year, there'll be a beautiful concert to open at St Patrick's Cathedral with a series of smaller Bach cantatas, with one soloist for each one and a small group of strings - there'll be a smaller chamber organ we're getting up from Melbourne, a very beautiful little concert."

Other shows include a "voyage of musical discovery" with baroque harp and an 1860s organ; a show featuring the musette, a French bagpipe popular in Louis XVI's day; a recital of Telemann's The Paris Quartets with harpsichord; and a rare solo cello performance "unaccompanied in full flight".
Favourites like the festival breakfast on Sunday, January 9 will return, while there will also be some Ballarat connections - tenor soloist Christopher Roache has family in the city.
Tickets to all events, which will all be COVID-safe and require double-vaccination, are on sale online, and a detailed program is expected to be published next week.
