This season has been a late harvest but conditions have been ripe for a good grain harvest, according to CHS Broadbent's Grant Wiltshire. He said this campaign offered growers across the west another option to consider, particularly if they were still undecided on what to do with their yields this season.
CHS Broadbent tipped off the joint Grain for Hope campaign with a 100-tonne donation with growers encouraged to donate a tonne or two to the cause.
Mr Wiltshire said this was a different kind of fundraising partnership for CHS Broadbent but one with far reaching impacts with cancer affecting all farming communities.
FECRI in Ballarat is Australia's sole regional-based cancer research centre and, without government funding, relies on community support. The Institute's world-class research programs focus on improving cancer diagnosis and treatment.

FECRI honourary director George Kannourakis said said creative fundraising programs had been vital amid the pandemic, which had put a stop to key fundraising events.
Grain growers can nominate tonnes to donate to the campaign via CHS Broadbent's weighbridges at the Lakaput, Lake Bolac and Ballarat site or via the CHS Broadbent grower portal.
