The top of the Creswick and District Community Bank senior mixed Pennant A Grade ladder has tightened up thanks to Ballarat's win over Creswick at the weekend.

It was not an ideal start for the eventual victors, losing the opening three rounds 2-8, 3-8 and 4-8.

Ballarat rebounded to win round four 8-0, getting the wheels in motion for a fight back.
It continued to win the following four rounds 8-4, 8-3, 8-2 and 8-4 to give it a commanding 49-37 lead heading into the final round, which Creswick eventually won 8-3.
Mt Prospect jumped to the top-of-the-table with a 6-65 to 3-52 win over Miners Rest.
The game was tight early, the two sides splitting the first four rounds.
An 8-3 round six win by Raylene Reese and Jodie-Lee Ferguson set the game up for Mt Propsect.
It was later finished off by Geoff Reese and Raylene in round eight with an 8-2 win.
Smeaton were back on the winners list after a loss to St Augustines, too strong for Bacchus Marsh.
It was a competitive game, Bacchus Marsh claiming an 8-1 and 8-0 win in two rounds throughout the day.
It was not enough, however, Smeaton doing enough to win 6-55 to 3-46.
Lawrence was the dominant winner of the dayy, defeating St Augustines 9-72 to 0-34.
Larelle Holloway and Helen Rae were the big winners of the match, too good for Jodie Perry and Sheridan Baxter 8-0 in round round six.
In A1 Grade, each winner was dominant, all four claiming all nine sets.
St Augustines jumped to the top of the ladder with a strong 9-72 to 0-33 win over Ballarat Berties.
Kingston Red followed suit, enjoying an easy 9-72 to 0-38 win over Creswick.
Guildford Districts dominated the second-half of its clash with Mannibadar to win 9-72 to 0-46.
The match stood at 32-27 in Guildford Districts favour after four rounds.
An 8-2 win by Debbie Huggett and Jacinta Halvy and an 8-1 win by Paula Bradley and Jacinta Halvy in the ensuing two rounds set the match up for the victors.
Kingston Gold rounded out the winners, defeating Smeaton 9-72 to 0-16.
