The Henry Dwyer-trained seven-year-old was a tearaway winner in the $30,000 Petrogas Burrumbeet Cup, 1800m - providing Ballarat stables with yet another success in the New Year's Day feature.
Under Oath has been a consistent country cups campaigner for more than three years, but wins have been elusive.
He took out the 2020 Casterton Cup, but other than that has had to be satisfied with a series of minor placings in the Camperdown, Great Western (twice), Stony Creek, Colac and Penshurst Cups.
Jockey Melissa Julius left nothing to chance on this occasion.
She gave Under Oath plenty of time to settle, sitting back next to last in the seven-horse field - even finding herself at the rear mid-race - but when she made her move it was decisive.
Julius ignited the gelding with 600m to go and within 200m Under Oath had dashed to the front.
He went on to score by more six lengths from top weight and favourite Court Deep, with Might Oasis another four lengths away third.
The Cup completed a double for Julius.

BURRUMBEET CUP DAY IN REVIEW
RACE 1
Dan O'Sullivan kicked off Burrumbeet Cup Day on a winning note for Ballarat trainers on Saturday.
All Or Nothin' made short work of the Melville Charles Maiden, 1800m.
Liam Riordan stalked the leader before racing away on the home turn to open an unassailable break and the four-year-old's account at his 10 start.
All Or Nothin' is the fourth winner out of Not Fuhr Nothin and was a $25,000 purchase at the Adelaide Magic Millions Yearling Sale.

RACE 2
Why Now had not been to the races in 12 months.
Curiously her only previous start had been at Burrumbeet last year when unplaced.
This did not stop the five-year-old mare showing her rivals a clean pair of heals though for Ballarat trainer Melody Cunningham in the Eureka Concrete Maiden Plate, 1000m.
She found the lead and despite a sustained mid-race challenge had plenty in the tank as she put away the race by almost two lengths.
Why Now also brought up a double for jockey Liam Riordan in the opening two events.
RESULT
20 WHY NOW (Liam Riordan) 57.5kg 1

RACE 3
Kate Walters made the most of a late call-up to score on Millitree for Bendigo trainer Rod Symons in the TB White & Sons Maiden, 1350m.
Carrying the all white colours, Millitree continued what has long been a racing pattern at Burrumbeet by leading into the home bend and kicking clear at the top for the short straight.
The four-year-old mare, which only debuted in late October, had shown little in her only three starts, but showed plenty of zip this time from the outside barrier.
RESULT
5.50 MILLITREE (Kate Walters) 57.5kg 1

RACE 4
Jockey Kate Walters produced the second riding double of the day with Craiglea Blizzard in the Mt Misery Sand and Soil Maiden, 1350m.
She put in a copybook ride.
Although caught three wide, Walters placed the four-year-old on the back of a line of three making the pace.
While that trio cut at each other, she bided her time before asking for an effort and getting a split three off the fence as they turned for home.
Craiglea Blizzard started his career in Queensland and after making his debut in July this year made his way to the Mt Gambier stable of Bob Post and son Kane, who is married to Walters.
This was his fifth start for the father and son team and the first time she had finished in the money.
RESULT

Liam Riordan has done it again.
He's landed the money to bring up a treble.
Riordan combined with the Andrew Bobbin-trained Libbyangel to make short work of their rivals in the McKinnon Seed Cleaning Benchmark64 Handicap, 1350m.
It also continued the Stawell-based Bobbin.
He had four winners on Boxing Day with doubles at Nhill and Kerang.
Libbyangel was not among those winners, but she had saluted at Penshurst three starts back.
RESULT
6.00 LIBBYANGEL (Liam Riordan) 57.5kg 1

For Camperdown trainer Clint Marshall, Amusing Magnus provided him with his 17th win.
The seven-year-old began his career with Ballarat's Mitch Freedman, moving into Marshall's care as a maiden and returning to racing in March, 2019, after more than 18 months off the scene.
Burrumbeet provided a second career success for Amusing Magnus, having previously tasted victory at Penshurst in December, 2020.

RACE 7
Ballarat trainer Melody Cunningham completed a winning double with a stable newcomer.
French Fields gave nothing else a chance onnce in front in the Grow Better Garden Products Benchmark52 Handicap, 1000m - opening right up over the last 100m.
The four-year-old mare was previously prepared by fellow Ballarat trainers Tony and Calvin McEvoy, having the bulk of her racing in South Australia.
She had won her maiden at Murray Bridge three starts ago and it was less than a month since she had raced.
French Fields was a $200,000 buy for the McEvoys at the 2019 Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale.
She is a half-sister to Singapore winner Genius.
