According to Victoria Police media, the vehicle was travelling along Daylesford-Trentham Road when it left the road and struck a tree shortly before 8am.

Despite the best efforts of emergency services, the sole occupant died at the scene.

No further details are known at this time.

Police will prepare a report for the coroner.
