An eclectic art exhibition that promises to brighten up the winter season will open at Wynyard this week. Colour Your Winter features dozens of works produced by Boat Harbour art collective, the Margaret Brown Studio Painters. Mixed media artist Sally Sadler will exhibit two bright works inspired by the Melaleuca trees of King Island. "On these dull, dreary days it's nice to see some colour and we all need a bit of colour in our lives," she said. RELATED: Sadler said the exhibition featured a broad range of styles and subjects, from landscapes to abstract works. "It's very varied and that's what's so good about this group of people. We've been able to maintain our individuality despite all painting together," she said. "Margaret has a great talent in bringing out our individuality with her amazing knowledge of colour and tone and shape and composition of works." Colour Your Winter will be launched on Saturday by well known North-West artist Beverley McNamara. It features works by award-winning North-West artists including Bronwyn Roberts-Thompson, Eleanor Austin, Christine Matthews and Mary Hudson. Colour Your Winter will be launched at 1:30pm at Wonders of Wynyard on Saturday and will be open until the end of the month. Looking to plan a big weekend?
