A 21-year-old Ballarat man has been charged with hacking into Ballarat City Council's online network.The man was arrested and charged with four computer-related offences last night.His arrest came after a police investigation involving the E-Crime Squad and Ballarat Criminal Investigation Unit.Council staff detected the security breach on Monday after a resident came forward with claims the system had allegedly been hacked.The network was immediately shut down after alleged unauthorised access to payroll data and emails.The man was bailed by police to appear at the Ballarat Magistrates Court on November 29.More to come.
