BALLARAT residents have been expressing their sorrow at the death of Ballarat's collector queen Joyce Quiddington, who lost her battle with cancer recently.Draped in black balloons and streamers, Mrs Quiddington's store, Joyce's Junkatique, has been transformed into a shrine to the lady who was so popular among Ballarat's hunters and collectors."She was an inspiration to everyone," said shop owner Sherryn Bailey, who worked next door to Mrs Quiddington for five years. "This shop has become a shrine to her, people are constantly stopping by to pay their respects."Mrs Bailey believes many people were unaware of Mrs Quiddington's deteriorating health."A lot of people didn't know she had cancer. If you asked her how she was, she would always deflect the conversation or state she was 'all right for an old girl'."Mrs Quiddington had spent more than half her life running the second-hand store and died this week, aged 82.
