Log-truck crash blocks road

TRAFFIC was blocked for several hours yesterday afternoon when a log truck overturned near Enfield.No one was hurt when the single-vehicle accident happened at 2.15pm on the Colac-Ballarat Rd.The B-Double truck, which had a full load of logs on board, rolled over, leaving sawn logs strewn across the road. Police roadblocks were set up and traffic detours arranged to the north and south of the accident scene.Heavy haulage equipment had to be used used to clear the logs from the road.Work on clearing the scene was still being done at 5pm.Ballarat TMU Acting Senior Sergeant Stuart Gale said the truck was travelling south when it overturned on a bend. "The vehicles has overturned on its side, blocking the whole of the highway,'' Acting Sgt Gale said. An investigation into the cause of the rollover is continuing.
