CAITLYN McPhee’s ambassador role as Miss Rodeo Australia has almost come to an end, but the tall brunette had a parting gift for the Ballarat Riding for the Disabled Association.Ms McPhee presented a $1000 cheque to the not-for-profit organisation, ahead of a Saturday function in Shepparton to crown a new national representative.RDA Ballarat was Ms McPhee’s charity of choice, and the group plans to put the money towards such things as cartage of horses, new saddlery and a Christmas party.During her year as Miss Rodeo Australia, Ms McPhee, a former Mt Clear College student, travelled overseas to represent the country at rodeo events in Canada and the USA.“Everybody over there is very glitz and very glamour and I was very reserved and a little bit more held back, like a country girl,” she said. “It was a big eye-opener to realise it is okay to be different , it’s okay for you to stand out in a different way.“That’s the biggest thing I have got out of this year, that it’s okay to be me.”
