TEACHERS at Mt Clear College were seeing double yesterday as eight sets of twins started Year 7 at the school. It's the largest number of twins the school has had in a single year group. While some of the twins have opted to be in the same class, others have decided to split up for their secondary education. Identical twins Tori and Jayde Faderson said even their friends had trouble telling them apart. But they were unable to hoodwink a teacher at primary school when they tried switching classes one day."Jayde's teacher, he knew that it was me, so he told me to hop out," Tori said. The 12-year-old girls have been in separate classes since grade three. However, the pair agreed there were benefits to having a twin at school. "You know that someone's always there," Jayde said.More than 200 students started Year 7 at Mt Clear College yesterday. Principal Linda Flynn said parents were given a choice about whether their twins would be separated or kept together. She said some parents decided to keep their children in the same class to support each other, while others chose to separate them to develop their own individuality. "Ultimately the parents know their children the best," Ms Flynn said. And are the Faderson girls going to try their switching experiment again? No, says Tori, but Jayde says maybe.
