A P-PLATE driver nabbed three times in the same night for allegedly driving an unregistered vehicle is facing up to $2000 in fines.Ballarat Police Sergeant Gary Drummond said the 19-year-old was first pulled over by police about 12.20am after they noticed she was displaying the old red P-plates and not the new green issued type.Further checks found the vehicle was also unregistered, and transfer of ownership forms had not been properly completed when the car was bought from a car dealer. She was then caught in Sturt St at 1am and, again, at 4am in Wendouree. The driver is facing up to nine separate fines, totalling up to $2000. Sgt Drummond said when caught the third time police refused to let her drive, and drove her home instead. She is also facing a charge for allegedly disobeying a lawful direction by police."P-plate drivers are going to be scrutinised," Sgt Drummond said."There are no ifs, buts or maybes. If they commit offences they are going to be dealt with harshly."
