A CELEBRATION concert featuring some of Ballarat's finest artists was held yesterday at Her Majesty's Theatre.
'Made in Ballarat' featured the glorious operatic voices of vocalists, as well as talented instrumentalists and the Ballarat Symphony Orchestra.
Performers included soprano Sue Donald, Opera Australia's Roger Lemke, AusOpera's Jason Wasley, Made in Ireland's Angela Wasley, orchestra conductor Mark Shiell, Martin Hemingway on the alto saxophone and Liz Hanton on theatre organ.
The concert was sponsored by the Ballarat Arts Foundation and the Ballarat Theatre Organ Society.
One of the concert organisers, Janet Low, said it was fantastic to see the final product.
"We've been planning this concert for approximately two years. It's a wonderful day," she said.
Ms Low said it was great to see local artists back in town to assist the Ballarat Arts Foundation, now five years old.
"In that five years we've assisted 90 visual and performing artists to take a step in their chosen career."
