Teacher faces more charges

A FEMALE Ballarat High School teacher is facing further sexual assault charges.Michelle Dennis, 32, of Sebastopol, was charged last Thursday with three counts of sexual penetration of a child aged under 16 and one count of committing an indecent act after another male, believed to be either a current or former student, contacted police.She has already been charged with three counts of sexual penetration of a student, aged 17 or under.These charges, which were laid in late October, are believed to have involved a current student.It is alleged all seven charges relate to sexual encounters with the two males outside the school grounds last year.Ms Dennis, who had already been stood down from Ballarat High School, has now also been suspended by the Victorian Department of Education and Early Childhood Development.A department spokesman said the woman was removed from the school as soon as they became aware of the allegations."... the teacher was removed from any teaching duties and the matter was reported to police," the spokesman said.Ms Dennis had been a teacher at Ballarat High School since 2003.She was bailed to appear in Ballarat Magistrates Court on January 22 next year for a committal hearing.
