SYDNEY photographer Shane Rozario's brief stay in Ballarat was not a happy one.Visiting for the Foto Biennale in which he had some work displayed, Mr Rozario stopped at the Eureka Centre for about half an hour on Saturday and in that time had a laptop computer, iPod and hard drive stolen from his car.Mr Rozario said he and a friend were away from the car from about 3pm to 3.30pm, during which time the thief or thieves managed to unlock the car and steal a bag containing the laptop, a silver MacBook Pro, and the hard drive. He said the laptop had pictures on it which had not been saved elsewhere while the hard drive contained pictures taken during a recent stint working in Melbourne for another photographer. The items were taken from a 1990s model Toyota Corolla.Mr Rozario said he would be happy to have the items returned anonymously, particularly the photographs on the hard drive. He hoped anyone wanting to return the items could push them through the locked gates of the Mining Exchange.Meanwhile, Ballarat police have arrested two teenagers in relation to thefts from cars in the Johnson St vicinity.Senior Constable Peter Bothe said the boys, aged 17 and 15, were arrested about 5am on Saturday. He said the boys were carrying ``a quantity of property'' and were interviewed and charged by police on Saturday afternoon. Each now faces seven counts of theft from motor vehicles. They were bailed to appear in a children's court next month.Senior Constable Bothe said police were keen to return property taken from cars in or near Johnson St.He said anyone who believed they had property stolen from their car should contact Senior Constable Michael Patterson on 5336 6000.
