Help to cover university costs

The Australian Government offers HECS-HELP and FEE-HELP loans to eligible students to cover all or part of their course fees. You can apply for a HELP loan at the time of enrolment. If you receive a HELP loan, the Australian Government pays the loan amount directly to your higher education provider on your behalf, and a HELP debt is recorded for you with the Tax Office. HECS-HELPHECS-HELP loans are available for Australian citizens and holders of an Australian humanitarian visa who enrol in a Commonwealth supported place. HECS-HELP is only available for university course codes that end in ‘1’. HECS-HELP does not apply to TAFE courses. FEE-HELPFEE-HELP loans are available for Australian citizens and holders of an Australian humanitarian visa who enrol in a fee-paying place for a degree course with a code that ends in ‘2’. FEE-HELP is not available for non-degree courses such as certificates, diplomas and advanced diplomas.
