THE holiday camp at the Minerdome this week is not just about basketball.Camp organiser and former Ballarat Miner Eric Hayes said it was also about having a good time."Probably first and foremost it's to have some fun, and make sure we teach them some good fundamentals of basketball," he said."It's always important that they come and learn something."Hayes, who coaches Ballarat's D-league team the Nuggets, has Miners Jamal Brown and BJ Carter, as well as Lady Miner Cayla Francis, to assist with the coaching duties."They're fundamentally very good players and they pass knowledge onto the kids very well," Hayes said. The clinic began yesterday and finishes tomorrow, and is designed to cater for all skill levels.Hayes said it was a great opportunity for the kids to work with some excellent coaches. "There's a fitness component to it all ... I know my children are tired at the end of the day."
